3 weeks ago I announced here that I had applied for the Designer Mentoring Program organized by Brian Ling from Design Sojourn. Last week Brian selected 5 designers out of more than 30 applicants of all levels from different countries. You can read more about the selection in his blog post here.

Anyways, I am here to tell you that I am one of the lucky Padawans and so I get the privilege and honor to be mentored by Brian for the coming 10 weeks or maybe more.

The proposed basic structure of the program is as follows:

1) A Portfolio Critique and Tune-up. (2 Weeks)

2) A complete skills assessment, review and improvement program. (3 Weeks)

3) Progressive Career Management and Advice. (3 Weeks)

4) Review (2 Weeks)

The other participants are:

- Ingo Rauth / German designer working as a freelancer for companies like Lunar Design in Germany / GRO Eindhoven
- David Emmett / British designer working at CBD in China
- Mikkel Holm / Danish designer working at Lego in Denmark
- Eugene Cheong / Malaysian designer working at Steinhoff in Australia

As promised I will blog as much as I am allowed to do so, due to some confidentiality, about my personal lessons and experiences I am gaining from the program. So stay tuned and you might be able to pick up some useful tips and insights.
